Assault suspect arrested after crashing into city bus while leading police on chase

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A man is facing multiple charges after he sideswiped a city bus and crashed into a parked car while leading officers on a chase in southeastern Colorado Springs Tuesday afternoon, according to police. 

Police said around 4:45 p.m., they got a call about two men fighting in the area of Astrozon Boulevard and Chelton Road. One of the men had hit the other with a broomstick and tried to run him over, according to police. 

When officers arrived, the suspect sped away. Officers followed him to southbound Academy Boulevard, where he slowed down and began weaving on and off the shoulder. He then turned into the Stratmoor Valley neighborhood, where he sideswiped a city bus and crashed into the back of a parked car on Maxwell Street. 

The suspect, 37-year-old Jeremy Lamb, was treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash. He is charged with domestic violence-related menacing, felony assault, vehicular eluding, and possession of narcotics. 

Police said no one besides the suspect was injured in the incident.
