Authorities arrested a drug dealer and his accomplice on Tuesday, Nov. 28 during a drug buy/bust operation in Woodland Park. The two allegedly had tried to sell marijuana on Craigslist to the Teller County Sheriff.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Jason Mikesell had advertised a vehicle for sale on Craigslist and received text messages from the suspect, 39-year-old Shawn Langley of Vail, as well as an accomplice, Jane Cravens. Authorities say both Langley and Cravens wanted to trade off “homegrown black market” marijuana for the vehicle. The suspects were unaware they were selling illegal marijuana to the Teller County Sheriff and continued to send photos of the “quality” product.

Authorities set up a location for the trade on Nov. 28 around 7:30 p.m. and undercover detectives booked both Langley and Cravens as they tried to trade the marijuana for the vehicle.

Detectives seized four pounds of illegal marijuana and their vehicle. Both were booked into the Teller County Jail on narcotics charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
