Colorado Springs barbershop gives free back-to-school haircuts to 300 kids

A local barbershop that has been in business for nearly 10 years is giving back to kids in the community.

A Touch of Perfection Barbershop offered free haircuts for school kids Sunday. They helped about 300 kids get a fresh new hairdo before they head back to the classroom. They also collected school supplies and backpacks for kids.

“We’re out here for a purpose, and I’m doing what I need to be doing,” owner Prentice Wilson said. “They’re constantly supporting the shop, so I want to give something back to them. I never feel like I’m just taking. I want to give back.”

One kid offered to donate money for his haircut, but the owner wouldn’t take it. He said he wanted it to be all about giving back.
