Carwash held to benefit family of teen killed in November shooting

Family and friends of a Colorado Springs teen who was killed in a late November shooting are coming together to raise money to cover funeral costs.

E’Majin Imarrhi Willis-Tejan, 19, was found dead in a car outside of Memorial Hospital on November 27. Police determined he had been shot in the area of East Fountain Boulevard and Hancock Expressway earlier that day. A 16-year-old boy is charged with murder in connection with the shooting.

On Saturday, Willis-Tejan’s loved ones held a car wash in an effort to honor and remember him with a special ceremony.

“He deserved it,” friend Brittany Moore said. “He was a really good person. We’re just trying to give him the proper funeral that he deserves. Lay our friend to rest properly.”

If you’d like to help out, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help with expenses.
