COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A butane explosion sparked a fire in a northeastern Colorado Springs apartment early Monday morning, according to police.
Police said the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. Monday in the 4500-block of Templeton Park Circle, which is in the area of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Barnes Road.
When officers arrived, they learned firefighters had put out a small fire contained inside a single apartment. The occupants of the apartment had left the home before police arrived. Police said no other people or apartments were affected, and the apartment building did not have any structural damage.
Police investigated and learned the fire had been caused by a butane explosion.
