Deputy Scott Stone’s 3-year-old son, Carter, got a new set of wheels Friday courtesy of a local bike shop.
Stone was one of the officers injured in the shooting that took the life of Detective Micah Flick in February. Carter’s bike recently broke, and when the Colorado Springs Bike Shop got word, they wanted to step up and help.
Stone said seeing his son get this bike was a touching moment.
“Makes me have hope to know that people out there support me and support my family,” Stone said. “This bike just represents a lot.”
The new bike will last Carter until he’s 6 years old.
