MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. — Parking in the Barr Trail Lot in Manitou Springs is now available on a reservation-only basis, the city announced Thursday.
The change goes into effect Friday, they same day the Manitou Incline reopens after a four-month closure.
The lot is popular with hikers who are heading up the Incline, to Barr Camp, or to the Pikes Peak summit.
Reservations are available up to a year in advance. Hikers can choose from an all-day or four-hour parking option. No matter which option you choose, the cost is $20. If you pick up a validated refund coupon from Barr Camp, you’ll get $5 off.
Parking enforcement will be conducted based on license-plate number. Receipts for parking purchase must be displayed on the vehicle’s dashboard.>> Visit parkbarrcamp.com to make a reservation.
Other parking options for Incline and Barr Trail hikers include:
- Park in the free parking area at Old Man’s Trail and El Paso Boulevard on the east side of Manitou Springs. Take the shuttle or walk to the Incline. The free shuttle runs every 20 minutes from 5:20 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. every day.
- Park in a paid parking lot or on the street in downtown Manitou Springs. Take the shuttle or walk to the Incline. Downtown parking lots are $1 per hour, or $5 for all day. Street parking fees range from $1 to $3 per hour, depending on how long you stay. The free shuttle runs every 20 minutes from 5:20 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. every day.
- Park on the street on Ruxton Avenue and walk to the Incline. This option is only available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking is $10 per hour.
