Arvada man killed by lightning strike near Crystal Lakes

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Lightning has claimed another life in Colorado, this time in Larimer County.

Authorities said 45-year-old Chad Trover of Arvada died Friday during a severe thunderstorm northwest of Fort Collins.

Trover was staying at a cabin with his family in the Crystal Lakes area of Red Feather Lakes and was standing between trees when lightning hit him, police said.

First responders were able to temporarily revive Trover and take him to a local hospital. He later died from his injuries.
