Widefield D-3 students present flags to local law enforcement agencies

A+ News

High school students in Widefield School District 3 met Wednesday night to work on better relationships with law enforcement.

The Youth Advisory Council for Law Enforcement is a program designed to open the lines of communication and bridge the gap between teens and law enforcement.

The students presented flags to each law enforcement agency, including the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department, as well as a flag for the family of Detective Micah Flick, who was killed in the line of duty earlier this month.
