About 200 soldiers are coming home to Fort Carson Tuesday after a nine-month deployment to Europe.
The soldiers are with the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. They deployed to Europe in June in support of the Atlantic Resolve mission. The mission “builds readiness, increases interoperability and enhances the bonds between ally and partner militaries with multinational training events in Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Romania,” according to Fort Carson officials.
The brigade’s command team will uncase the brigade colors at Tuesday’s ceremony, symbolizing the end of the brigade’s deployment.
The ceremony is set for 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the special events center on post.
Soldiers from the 4th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, which deployed last summer to U.S. Central Command’s area of operations, are also expected to return over the next few weeks.
