A local organization hoping to raise awareness about human trafficking hosted an event Saturday in downtown Colorado Springs.
Kairos Traders brought in Vicki Proffit, executive director of Sarah’s Home, an organization that helps victims of child sex trafficking.
Proffit said trafficking has no limits.
“It’s happening in almost every neighborhood,” Proffit said. “It’s happening everywhere. And people need to be alert to that’s what is happening. I walked out of Safeway in this community one winter night, and a girl was outside, trafficking herself. It’s rampant.”
