Colorado Springs, Colo.--Water service has been restored for 42 customers affected by the main break.
Crews are still working on site, and hope to have it all restored by midnight.
A sinkhole on the southeast side of the Springs is big enough to swallow a pickup truck. And it almost did.
Colorado Springs Utilities said they were notified about the water main break on Astrozon Boulevard about 1:30 Thursday afternoon. They arrived about 10 minutes later and found a sinkhole about 25 feet by 30 feet. A spokeswoman said a pickup truck went partway into the sinkhole, but the driver was uninjured.
Astrozon is closed west of Chelton, from Astrozon Circle to Nadine Drive.
About 104 utility customers had service affected.
An earlier water main break in the southwest part of town is taking longer to repair than utility crews expected. Utilities have been working on the break on Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard near Quail Lake most of the day. They hoped to have it repaired by 5:00 tonight, but now said it won't be fixed until about 7:00.
Drivers are asked to avoid these two trouble spots this evening,
