Springs man killed in plane crash in Texas

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs man has been killed in a plane crash in Amarillo, TX.

The crash happened Friday night during high winds in the Texas Panhandle.

The Department of Public Safety said the plane went down only two miles from the Amarillo Airport where the pilot, Kelly O'Neal, stopped to pick up 79-year-old Robert O'Neal.

Both men were killed in the crash.

The cause is under investigation.
