COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The woman who was found dead inside a Crowne Plaza hotel room Sunday morning has been identified.

According to the El Paso Coronor, the woman was 28-year-old Kimberly Walker, a soldier from Fort Riley, Kan. Officials said Walker died of strangulation with a contributing factor of blunt force trauma.

It was Sunday morning at about 6:40 when police were called to the hotel, located on South Circle Drive, and found Walker inside a hotel room.

Montrell Mayo, a 24-year-old Fort Carson soldier, was arrested in connection with the death Sunday afternoon in Greenville, N.C. Authorities said he has family in the Greenville area.
