COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police arrested the man that led them on multiple pursuits early Thursday morning.

Just before 2 a.m., police attempted to stop a vehicle near Circle Drive and Winnipeg Drive for minor traffic violations. The suspect did not stop but the officer did not pursue the vehicle because of poor road conditions, police said.

At about 2:15 a.m., officers again saw the same vehicle near Circle Drive and Ellingwood Drive. The suspect, according to police, failed to stop again and led officers on a brief pursuit. That pursuit was soon stopped because of road conditions, police said.

Police tried to stop the vehicle once more near Monterey and the Hancock Expressway, police said. That's when the suspect sped away recklessly, police said.

The suspect then became involved in a single-vehicle crash at the on-ramp to Southbound Circle Drive from the Hancock Expressway.

After a brief foot chase, the suspect, identified as Steve West, was arrested for numerous traffic violations, including a charge of felony eluding.
