Police: Man robs Safeway pharmacy for prescription meds

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Police are searching for the man who robbed a Safeway pharmacy Thursday morning.

At about 10:45 a.m., Thursday, police responded tot he store, located at 1920 South Nevada Avenue, on a robbery report.

Police said a suspect had instructed a pharmacist to give him some prescription medicine. The suspect was never seen with a weapon, police said.

The pharmacist complied with the suspect's demands. The suspect then left the store and was seen on store video fleeing in a bright red two-door car with silver-colored wheels.

The suspect is described as a white man about six-feet tall, weighing about 170-180 pounds and in his 30s.

He was wearing a balck stocking cap, black wide-paneled down style jacket and blue jeans, police said.
