Cañon City man accused of firing shots when women left his party

CAÑON CITY, COLO. -- Cañon City Police arrested a man accused of diring gunshots when two women tried to leave his party.

Carlos Sanchez Cruz, 21, was arrested for investigation of Attempted First Degree Assault, Prohibited Use of Weapons and Felony Menacing without incident.

At about 1 a.m., Thursdaym police responded to a call of shots fired in the 200 block of West Stanley. Two females reported they had been at a party at the address when they decided to leave.

Cruz, who was having the party, becamse upset and said he would shoot the women if they left, police said.

As the women drove away, Cruz fired the gun.

He is being held at the Fremont County Detention center on a $6,000 bond.
