FREMONT COUNTY, COLO. --
A 48-year-old Canon City woman is in the Fremont County Detention Center on a "no bond hold" after she allegedly stabbed her husband during a domestic fight at their home on Navajo Drive in southern Fremont County.
Officials with the Fremont County Sheriff's Office say Kelly Dooley is being held on charges of 2nd Degree Assault and Domestic Violence.
The stabbing happened at approximately 11:10 a.m. Wednesday after deputies say Dooley went to a neighbor's house asking for help. Dooley told the neighbor that she had stabbed her husband, David Dooley, during a physical altercation.
The neighbor drove the victim to Canon City where they met up with deputies and an awaiting ambulance. David Dooley was then transported to St. Thomas More Hospital where he was treated for what was later determined to be a non-life threatening stab wound in the back.
Kelly Dooley was later taken into custody at her residence and transported her to the Fremont County Detention Center after she was examined by medical personnel for minor injuries received during the altercation.
