COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Northbound I-25 in Colorado Springs was closed at Cimarron Street for more than two hours Thursday while crews worked to clear rocks from the road.
Colorado State troopers said a Pioneer Landscaping truck carrying the small rocks hit a bump in the highway around 1:15 p.m., causing the chute to open.
The rocks covered all three lanes and damaged several cars.
Troopers said the chute doors were not supposed to open and that it was a malfunction.
Pioneer will be cited for having an unsecure load on a truck.
Nobody was hurt. All lanes have since reopened.
