PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- Pueblo residents living in a south side neighborhood that was home to an ore smelter in the late 1800s are telling federal officials they're unsure if they will support listing it as a federal Superfund site.

The EPA previously conducted testing on yard soils near the ex-smelter site and found high levels of arsenic and lead, which can cause cancer and other health problems.

Residents said Monday they are worried that the cleanup will make them sick and their property values would plummet.

The federal listing would provide resources for the cleanup and no money would be required from the community.
