THURSDAY: Abundant sun will gave way to some clouds in the afternoon. Most areas will be dry today with a slight chance of a late day sprinkle or storm over the mountains or near New Mexico. Highs will be in the 80s & 90s on the plains with 70s & 80s for the mountains.
TONIGHT: There may be a couple storms near the Kansas state line overnight, otherwise partly cloudy with some passing clouds. Lows mostly in the 50s.
EXTENDED FORECAST: After a generally dry day Thursday, a passing weather system and late arrival of a cold front on Friday will kick off thunderstorms over the plains. Some of these storms will possibly be severe with large hail and even the potential for some heavy rain, damaging wind gusts and maybe even a tornado. Saturday may feature a few storms on the far eastern plains, but most areas should stay dry. Sunday and Monday will include afternoon storms.
