USAFA volleyball adds 8 freshman to 2009 roster

New cadets expected to add to the team

USAF ACADEMY, COLO. -- The Air Force volleyball team and head coach Penny Lucas-White announced the eight members of the Class of 2013 that completed in-processing at the Academy this morning. The newest members of the volleyball program, who will promptly begin Basic Cadet Training, join 12 returning letterwinners from the 2008 squad.

Maile Lolohea (Salt Lake City, Utah) enters the Academy after spending the 2008-09 academic year at the USAFA Prep School. Prior to her stint at the prep school, Lolohea was a first-team all-region and all-state selection for Highland High School.

Grace Konstanzer (Irvine, Calif.) paced Woodbridge High School to an undefeated, league championship in 2007, while Julianne Haun (Navarre, Fla.) was a two-time team MVP and three-time all-area selection at Navarre High School. Maiya Perich (Houston, Texas) was an all-district honoree at James E. Taylor High School.

Jackie Bringman (Torrance, Calif./Redondo Beach HS), Briana Jones (Chicago, Ill./Saint Ignatius College Prep), Preslee Maki (Florence, Mont./Frenchtown HS), the daughter of Air Force football All-American Terry Maki, and Molly Frick (Colorado Springs, Colo./Doherty HS), the sister of rising junior Emily Frick, round out the Falcons’ incoming class.

The Falcons open the season Aug. 28-29 at the LaSalle Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa.
