FORT COLLINS, COLO. (AP) -- A sports economist is disputing how much revenue a proposed new on-campus football stadium at Colorado State University might generate.

Temple University professor Joel Maxcy was hired by opponents of a new stadium to analyze projections in an advisory committee's feasibility study, which found the new stadium could generate $173 million to $437 million in revenues.

The Coloradoan reports that Maxcy contends the study was overly optimistic about game attendance, sales of luxury seats and donations. He estimates that under the best possible conditions, the proposed $246 million stadium wouldn't generate that much revenue -- but could lose up to $218 million in 30 years under the most pessimistic conditions.

CSU President Tony Frank has said he'll decide whether to proceed with a new stadium by early next week.
