Nebraska-Omaha beats CC 5-3

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) -- Ryan Walters scored twice in the three-goal third period as Nebraska-Omaha rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat Colorado College 5-3 Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Walters's short-handed goal tied the game 3-3 at 2:48 and his even-strength goal gave the Mavericks (14-12-6, 11-8-5) the lead for good. Jayson Megna scored into an empty net with 40 seconds left.

Megna assisted on a goal and Andrej Sustr assisted on three goals for UNO, which moved into a three-way tie with the Tigers (16-12-2, 13-10-1) and North Dakota for fourth place in the WCHA.

John Faulkner had 14 saves in the first two periods and Ryan Massa had 15 in the third for UNO. Jaden Schwartz, Alex Krushelnyski and David Civitarese scored for Colorado College.

Josh Thorimbert made 29 saves for the Tigers.

Colorado College won 4-3 on Friday.
