CC beats Nebraska-Omaha 5-2

OMAHA, NEB. (AP) -- Colorado College got three power-play goals and two empty-net goals to beat Nebraska-Omaha 5-2 Saturday to earn a split in their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.

Gabe Guentzel had two goals on the power play in the second period for the Tigers (5-1-0, 3-1-0). Jaden Schwartz scored the game-winning goal with a man advantage at 13:33 of the third period.

The Mavericks (5-5-0, 4-2-0) had the game's only even-strength goal by Andrej Sustr. Ryan Walters scored short-handed for UNO, which had a 47-27 shots-on-goal advantage.

Rylan Schwartz and Dakota Eveland had empty-net goals late in the third period.

Josh Thorimbert had 45 saves, including 23 in the second period for the Tigers. The Mavericks' Ryan Massa had 22 saves.

Nebrasaka-Omaha beat Colorado College 7-5 on Friday.
