DENVER (AP) -- Aaron Cook pitched effectively into the eighth inning and Carlos Gonzalez' three-run homer highlighted a powerful offensive display that sent the Colorado Rockies to a 12-5 victory over the Florida Marlins on Wednesday night.

The Rockies, who had struggled to provide Cook with run support in past outings, batted around twice in beating Ricky Nolasco for the first time in six tries. Chris Iannetta also provided much of the offensive pop, hitting a double and a single to drive in four runs. Gonzalez, who also had a run-scoring single, also finished with four RBIs.

Nolasco (9-9) came in sporting a 5-0 record in his five previous starts against the Rockies, including going 3-0 with a 1.64 era in his three prior starts at Coors Field.
