CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Colorado Rockies have activated outfielder Dexter Fowler from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Fowler had been out since June 7 with a strained left abdominal.

The Rockies announced the move Monday before starting a three-game interleague series in Cleveland.

In 57 games before being hurt, Fowler batted .238 with 18 RBIs and no home runs.

Manager Jim Tracy said Fowler would get to work on all aspects of his game while in the minors, especially on becoming a switch-hitter. Tracy said the team discussed with Fowler the option of hitting only from his natural right side, but the 25-year-old expressed a desire to keep trying to improve from the left side.
