DENVER (AP) -- The win, coupled with Arkansas State's 64-61 loss at Louisiana-Lafayette, moved the Pioneers (13-13, 9-4 Sun Belt) into sole possession of first place in the conference's West Division with three games remaining.
Denver shot 54 percent from the floor, including 11 of 23 from 3-point range.
The Pioneers held Louisiana-Monroe (6-22, 1-13) to 35 percent shooting and just 12 field goals.
Lawrence Gilbert had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Warhawks, who have lost nine straight and 13 of their last 15.
