PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- A man who led police on a chase through three counties following a Trinidad burglary has been arrested following a crash and shooting.

According to the Pueblo Chieftain, Eavon Cunningham was held on a $6,000 bond at the Fremont County jail for investigation of auto theft, menacing and trespassing.

Authorities say Cunningham stole several handguns from a Trinidad home before fleeing into Pueblo County. He allegedly was involved in a hit and run accident in Pueblo West and eluded officers as he headed toward Custer County.

Fremont County deputies found Cunningham after a homeowner reported a trespasser. The homeowner says a shot was fired into the air when he tried to call authorities, but no injuries were reported.
