COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- For those in need of roses for Valentine's Day, we headed out to four local floral shops to see where you could get the most bang for your buck.
The first shop we stopped at was FLOWERAMA on East Platte Avenue. As with the case at any store prices vary depending upon what you purchase. But to keep it even we ordered one dozen red roses in a vase. The total at FLOWERAMA with tax came to $53.80.
The next stop took us to Platte Floral on East Platte Avenue. For one dozen red roses in a vase $64.58.
From there we traveled to Colorado Springs Florist on East Boulder Street. The price, $80.71 with tax.
And last but certainly not least, Skyway Creations Flower Shop on South 8th Street. The grand total $96.85.
We purchased the roses on the same day within a three hour period. Three days later, we trimmed the stems, changed the water, and added plant food. The roses were kept in the same controlled environment for the 6 day period.
