CC holds off Clarkson 5-4

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) -- Colorado College's Rylan Schwartz had a goal and two assists as the Tigers held off Clarkson 5-4 Friday in men's college hockey.

The Tigers (1-0-0) took a 5-1 lead on Archie Skalbeck's goal at 2:03 of the third period.

Clarkson (0-1-0) closed to within a goal on tallies by Pat Megannety, Christian Powers and Ben Sexton. But goalie Josh Thorimbert stopped the rally and finished with 21 saves.

Jeff Collett had a goal and an assist for the Tigers, who outshot Clarkson 33-25. Schwartz and Collett's goals were short-handed.

Cody Rosen started in goal for Clarkson and made 25 saves. He was replaced in the third period by Greg Lewis, who made three stops.
