FORT COLLINS, COLO. (AP) -- Two-time Olympian Casey Malone was among evacuees earlier this week from the massive wildfire burning in northern Colorado.

The Coloradoan reports (http://noconow.co/M9Aj7C ) Malone and his wife, Lindsey, got an evacuation order Monday, about two hours after they returned home from a track and field meet in New York.

The discus thrower says he didn't know how long he'd be away and was hoping he'd grabbed all the gear he would need for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials that start June 25 in Eugene, Ore. But after spending the night in Fort Collins with Lindsey's parents, they were allowed to return Tuesday.

The Malones both attended Colorado State University and are now assistant track and field coaches in Boulder for the University of Colorado.
