DENVER (AP) -- David Jones knocked in a rebound 3:51 into overtime to lift the Colorado Avalanche past the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Miikka Kiprusoff turned away a shot from Paul Stastny, but the rebound trickled away. Jones skated in and drove the puck into the net, giving the Avalanche their first win in five games against the Flames this season. It was Kiprusoff's first loss in 11 starts against Colorado.

Colorado had a chance to get the lead with about 3 1/2 minutes left in regulation but Ryan O'Reilly's shot from in close hit the crossbar and bounced away. O'Reilly's nose was bloodied on the play when defenseman Mark Giordano's stick caught him across the face.

O'Reilly was tended to at the bench and continued playing.

Matt Stajan gave Calgary a 1-0 lead in the first period. Stastny tied it later in the period.
