LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Brittany Wilson scored 21 points and Chucky Jeffery had 20 points and 14 rebounds Wednesday night to power Colorado past Utah 55-41 in the first round of the Pac-12 women's tournament.

The 10th-seeded Buffaloes (18-12), who had lost eight of nine before winning the final game of the regular Pac-12 season, advanced to meet No. 2 seed California in the tournament quarterfinals on Thursday.

Colorado opened up a 32-15 halftime lead in the game between the conference's two newest teams behind Wilson's 18 points. Jeffery scored 14 in the second half and the Utes never came closer than seven points.

Taryn Wicijowski led seventh-seeded Utah (15-15) with 18 points.
