DENVER (AP) -- Kyle Ostrow had a goal and two assists as Denver defeated second-ranked Minnesota 5-3 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game on Friday.

Dustin Jackson and Nate Dewhurst added a goal and an assist apiece for the Pioneers (19-10-1, 15-6-0).

Ostrow, Jackson and Dewhurst scored in the first period, helping Denver to a 3-1 lead. Nate Condon scored the game's first goal for Minnesota, which lost for the fourth straight time in Denver.

Sam Brittain made 31 saves for Denver and Kent Patterson had 29 saves for Minnesota.

Jason Zucker scored the game-winning goal in the second period before being helped from the ice after a hard check that earned Kyle Rau a game misconduct. Zucker was down for an extended period.
