ENGLEWOOD, COLO. (AP) -- The Denver Broncos had one of the worst red-zone touchdown percentages in the NFL last season.

Willis McGahee to the rescue.

The ninth-year running back has quickly become the offense's biggest offseason acquisition, scoring three red-zone TDs in the last two weeks, on runs of 1 and 2 yards sandwiched around a 13-yard touchdown catch.

Since his first season in the NFL in 2004, McGahee ranks fourth in the league with 50 red-zone TDs.

The Broncos were money between the 20s last year, but bogged down up close, converting just 61.5 percent of their trips inside the red zone into touchdowns.

Without much of a ground game to respect, opponents didn't bite on the play-action and Denver ranked 27th in red-zone TD conversions.
