COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) -- Nick Dineen scored three goals, and Colorado College broke open a tie game in the second period en route to a 5-2 victory against penalty-prone Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday night.

Tyler Johnson's power-play goal at the 12:18 mark of the second period gave the Tigers (11-7-1, 8-5 West Coast Hockey Association) a 3-2 advantage. Dineen added his second goal, assisted by Johnson on a power play, later in the period and got the hat trick at the 14:27 mark of the third.

Dineen, an Omaha native, scored on a power play in the first period.

Colorado College, which has won six straight, had 12 power plays to Nebraska-Omaha's two.

Alex Hudson and Terry Broadhurst scored for the Mavericks (11-5-1, 8-4-1).
