BOULDER, COLO. (AP) -- The University of Colorado is denying reports it has picked a new football coach.

Athletic director Mike Bohn issued a statement Thursday saying the search committee hasn't completed its work and that the school hasn't offered the job to anyone yet.

The Denver Post reported that former Buffaloes coach Bill McCartney said the school had offered the job to Jon Embree, the tight ends coach for the Washington Redskins.

Bohn said Colorado hopes to make an announcement on a new coach in the coming days.
