FORT COLLINS, COLO. (AP) -- Gilberto Clavell scored 29 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Sam Houston State past Colorado State 92-81 Saturday.
Josten Crow added 20 points, four rebounds and three assists for the Bearkats (3-1), who pulled away from Colorado State (2-1) after trailing the Rams for most of the game.
Clavell was 10 of 14 shooting from the field and 9 of 11 from the free-throw line.
Marcus Williams finished with 17 points, seven assists, four rebounds and four steals. Lance Pevehouse contributed 14 points and four rebounds.
Travis Franklin led the Rams' offense with 22 points. Andy Ogide scored 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Jesse Carr added 18 points and four rebounds.
