INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) — Mo Williams stretched his arms out to both sides and announced what the world already knows about the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"There is no LeBron in this building," the Cavaliers guard said. "Whether we believe it or not, he's not coming back."

Having lost LeBron James, the Cavaliers now are learning to live without him.

For the first time in eight seasons, James was not at media day Monday as the Cavs embarked on a new era without the superstar, who decided to leave as a free agent and join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami to take a run at his first NBA title.

It was a turbulent "Summer of LeBron" for the Cavs. Coach Mike Brown was fired, general manager Danny Ferry left, Byron Scott was hired as coach and then James bolted, leaving a team and a city in the lurch with Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert accusing him of quitting in the playoffs.

Last week, Williams said he was so disturbed by James' decision that he considered retiring. Williams, who injured his groin last week in workouts and will be limited for several weeks, clarified his remarks by saying he was speaking emotionally and that he is looking forward to the upcoming season.
