Rockies sign veteran pitcher Russ Ortiz

The Colorado Rockies signed free agent right-handed pitcher Russ Ortiz today and assigned him to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

The 11-year Major League veteran made his Sky Sox debut today as well tossing 4.0 innings in relief and giving up one run on three hits while walking two and striking out three.
