Colorado's Hale Irwin spends time teaching the Linkers

The United States Golf Association (USGA)-funded Pikes Peak Linkers have been in Colorado Springs for the past 11 years. The Linkers program gives disabled and less fortunate children a chance to learn to play the game of golf.

This year's golfers got a special treat on Tuesday, July 29. All 200 of them were invited to a field trip to the USGA Senior Open.

While on their trip, the Linkers attended a special golf clinic held by Colorado’s own Hale Irwin, who will be looking for his third U.S. Senior Open win this weekend at The Broadmoor.

FOX21 News reporter Pedro Laumbach was there for the special session.
