COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Two men were arrested early Friday morning for burglarizing a Colorado Springs convenience store.

Charles Ney, 34, and Anthony Ney, 33, were arrested on charges of Second Degree Burglary, Felony Criminal Mischief and Felony Theft.

At about 1:30 a.m., an officer driving on East Platte Avenue near North Murray Boulevard saw two men running southbound across Platte. Police said the men ran behind a shopping center on the soutwest corner of Platte and Murray.

Other officers responded and the men were found hiding in a fenced office complex in the 2900 block of East Bijou Street.

Around the same time, police said a burglary alarm was received from the Shell Gas Station in the 4200 block of East Platte. When officers arrived, the front glass door has been broken and the business had been burglarized, police said.

The two men were found to be carrying bags with packs of cigarettes and other tobacco items, stolen from the convenience store, police said.
