Colorado Springs Fire Department is on scene at a house fire on Cheyenne Blvd, near Cresta Rd.

The fire was reported around 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

CSFD says the house, located on the 1500 block of Cheyenne Blvd, was vacant and being remodeled.

The fire load increased due to the construction materials inside the home.

Cheyenne Blvd has been closed between Sumner St. and May St.

Police are asking that you avoid the area due to heavy smoke.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
