A call about gunshots at an apartment complex led police to a assault victim Thursday night.
Colorado Springs police say they were called to the Newport Arms Apartments near Academy and North Carefree around midnight. When they arrived, they found a 20 year old man who had been beaten, but his injuries are not life-threatening. Police also found a .45 caliber shell casing. They determined the casing was connected to the incident, but said the victim was not struck by a bullet.
The suspects are known to the victim. They are identified as 18 year olds Joseph Santiago and Matthew Naple. Both men should be considered armed and dangerous.
