A Penrose man was killed and two others injured Wednesday night in a single car crash.

The Colorado State Patrol said a car driven by 29 year old Christopher Prater was eastbound on Highway 50 about seven miles east of Canon City when Prater lost control. The car began to rotate counter clockwise, and Prater overcorrected. The Ford Explorer then rolled 3 1/2 times, ejecting all three occupants.

Prater, who was not wearing his seat belt, died on scene. The two passengers, 38 year old Brenda Pollack and a 14 year old boy, were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.

Pending toxicology results, it is unknown at this time is alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
