COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are looking for a man who stole a car Tuesday morning while the owner was warming it up before taking his kids to school.

According to officers, the man pulled the car out of the garage and left it running in a driveway on Audubon Drive to let it warm up. He heard the engine accelerate and went out to find a man sitting in the driver's seat.

The owner tried pulling the man out of the car while he was backing out, but the carjacker pulled out a gun. The owner backed off when he saw his young son in the front yard, and the gunman left with the car.

The carjacker had his face covered and was wearing dark clothing.

The car is a yellow Dodge Challenger RT with a black stripe and U.S. Army license plates 976-XGZ. Officers haven't found him or the car yet.
