DENVER (AP) -- Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno has pleaded guilty to driving while ability impaired on Interstate 25 earlier this year.

KUSA-TV in Denver reports Moreno pleaded guilty to the charge Friday and was given a 30-day suspended jail sentence and one year of probation. He also was sentenced to 24 hours of community service and was ordered to pay $1,500 in fines and fees.

Police have said Moreno was driving 70 mph in a construction zone where the speed limit was 45 mph early Feb. 1. He originally was charged with drunken driving and careless driving but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge.
