FORT COLLINS, COLO. (AP) -- Colorado State University's president says he plans to decide whether to build a $246 million football stadium on the south side of campus before an October meeting of the school's board of governors.
A committee studying the feasibility of the idea told CSU President Tony Frank on Thursday night the stadium could open in three years, if approved.
The Coloradoan reports that adding components including an alumni center, parking and changes to CSU's Plant Environmental Center, could cost $51 million.
An early analysis suggests walkers and bicyclists could be up to 30 percent of traffic to the new stadium on game days, or about 12,600 people, but about 32,000 motorists would need parking.
The committee hasn't decided what to do with the existing Hughes Stadium, which is off campus.
