BOULDER, COLO. (AP) -- Police in Boulder say two carloads of University of Colorado football players were pulled over after witnesses reported seeing someone pointing a gun.
The Daily Camera reports the gun turned out to be an Airsoft pistol.
No tickets were issued, and no one was arrested after the incident around 2 a.m. Saturday. However police told CU athletics officials about the effects of the students' actions, because 10 officers were called to the scene.
Football coach Jon Embree released a written statement Tuesday saying the players will be disciplined.
The two cars held a total of eight football players and one player's brother.
Colorado athletics officials say only four players were playing with the replica gun, while the others were simply getting rides home.
